Why is nothing easy?

Last week I regaled you with the teen drama saga and my medical problems along with an update on when you can expect the first in the convergence series… Today I have a different story to tell you.

Have you ever had a bathroom refitted? I expected it to be easy. Silly me! We had a plan, we had a layout design and timetable for all the work. What happened? Very little! No one showed up on Monday. Tuesday the plasterer showed but had to take the tiles off the walls before he could start… He’ll have to come back as there is more plastering to do. Wednesday again no one showed up so I phoned the company. The boss came to see the bathroom and assured me someone would be here the following morning and that the work would be finished by friday. Did that happen? Of course not. I got a phone call on Thursday morning saying the plumber would be here at lunchtime. So we waited, and waited and waited. No one came. Friday morning the electrician came and put the new light and fan in along with the electrics for the shower, on the opposite wall from the plans. I will admit I freaked out. How am I meant to stand safely and use the shower if it’s on the sloping side of the bath? He also left a hole in the bedroom floor when he was running the wires through.

I decided I wanted nothing more to do with any of them, so didn't bother calling.

This morning a lovely plumber arrived and explained what is happening. They are turning the bath around. He’s gone to get the new bath and toilet now so hopefully we will have a working bathroom by this afternoon. Cross your fingers for us.

As for the actual work, I’ve not got much done. As I was stressed out with this bathroom work, it has been hard to concentrate. The day I decided to work, the electrician turned up and shut down our electricity. Hopefully once my house is no longer being invaded I’ll be able to get back to it.
