Soooooooooo… It’s Valentine's day!!!!

I hope you are all looking out for your significant other, but I was never one to celebrate valentines day. I believe love should be celebrated every day, not just one, but I hope you all get whatever you are looking for today.

In keeping with the theme of the day I will answer one question that has bugged me since someone first asked.

How do you create a couple and show affection in the stories?

Quite simply I don’t. I try to avoid any explicit details as I want my writing to be suitable and available to all. I don’t want to dwell on intimate acts in my stories, but I have found that a simple look or touch can show the emotions better than a five page sex scene. For me, clasped hands during a confrontation shows support. A smile and nod of understanding can show comfort better than an embrace.

My characters tell me what they want to happen as I write. I have occasionally found myself writing more detailed scenes, but remove them as they are unnecessary to the story. The intimate lives of my characters are private as they should be in real life. Do you really want someone sitting in the corner of your bedroom watching you?????
