I’m doing okay with NaNoWriMo this year. I’ve written 22337 words in two weeks. I’m a little behind but as usual life is getting in the way.
However, I have finished Griff’s story. The end was a bit of a surprise to me. Griff decided he wanted to be at the epicentre of the convergence. I've since moved on to Vala’s and Kathy’s stories and it would appear that Kathy is more responsible for the convergence than I first thought. Jeremy is busy pottering with his sculptural history, and Charles is so far out of his time, I’m not sure he’ll even notice the changes to begin with.
As usual Galia is bouncing around making sure everyone is ready for the main event, but I still haven’t decided (or been told) how the human population will react to the magical beings hiding in plain sight.
What a sneak peek at how the humans find out???
Evalina gives a speech to the whole world….
‘Fear not.’ Her voice echoed through the chamber and I realised she was projecting from wherever she was. ‘Many of you will not understand what is happening in the next few days and weeks, but be assured we mean no harm. Centuries ago my people split a portion of the world so we might live in peace and allow humanity to do the same.’
As she spoke I realised she was talking to everyone. Us, the people in the villages, and the humans.
‘When we left, magic was stripped from this world. That was not our intention. We only wished to live in peace. This convergence of our worlds is not our doing, but we welcome all who wish to learn more about the past and our collective future. There will be dangers. Evil has been unleashed from a parallel world and is now free to roam wherever they wish. As before we will protect you in any way we can. We are once again one world, one people, and I hope to find new friends as the days pass.’
I smiled. I knew many in the human world who would welcome the change to the status quo.
‘Now I speak to the world leaders. We are not here to overthrow or demand you worship us. We have no wish to take over the governance of your respective countries. However we would like to meet in person and talk through any concerns you may have. Novae terrae is here to stay and we would like a peaceful existence alongside your people. A representative will approach each of you to offer the meeting, and escort you to our land. I hope to make many friends in the coming days.’
This speech will be in every book, with a few variations. How do you think humans will react??? Drop me a message to give your opinion!
